Dominating the landscape like no other mountain, iconic and instantly recognisable, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is the highest peak in Africa and the world’s tallest freestanding mountain at 5895 metres. To climb Kilimanjaro is a great challenge and entirely feasible for the active traveler or keen walker looking for something new. In a matter of days you’ll climb Kilimanjaro from the hot plains of Africa through grasslands, tropical rain forest, alpine meadows, moorlands and desert uplands onto snow and ice.
The safety and success of your Kilimanjaro hike depend largely on the skills and experience of your guides. We want you to know that you can have complete faith in their capabilities because we ensure they are trained, experienced, and certified to the highest industry standards. As one of the premier Mount Kilimanjaro tour operators, we have regular climbs on four of the main routes:
Machame Route: Known for its excellent acclimatization and breathtaking views.
Lemosho Route: Follows the Machame route after the second camp (Shira Plateau), but adds an extra day for better acclimatization.
Rongai Route: A less-travelled option that approaches from the north, perfect for those seeking more solitude and shelter during the rainy season.
Marangu Route: A great choice for those with limited time, offering a shorter trek with huts along the way.
At African Delight Safari, we also organize lots of climbs for charities, walking clubs and groups too. Contact us for your Private Kilimanjaro Trek or join one of the open trips to meet like minded individuals.
Trekking Mount Kilimanjaro is possible year-round, but the Best Time To Climb Kilimanjaro is from June to October, when the weather is more favorable. The months of April and May tend to be the wettest and are less ideal for climbing. August to October is the peak season, with the highest traffic in August and September due to the summer holidays.
