You will also have an opportunity to explore an ecosystem with over 300 hand-planted endemic flora that directly benefits the exquisite animals that reside within Serval Wildlife. At the same time, you will enjoy the mesmerizing views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro.

Visitors to Serval Wildlife can enjoy a variety of activities, such as game drives, guided walks, and bird watching, some activities are limited to customers visit for a day trip but can be accessed by customers book accommodation. The sanctuary also offers educational tours that provide guests with the opportunity to learn about the local flora and fauna and the conservation efforts being made to protect them. The lodge’s commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism has earned it a reputation as one of the leading ecotourism destinations in Tanzania.

The sanctuary is over 1000 acres. Animals are ethically obtained from zoos and injured animals from the wild to instill natural behaviors and eventually rehabilitate them into the wild with the assistance of TAWA and TAWIRI, Tanzania wildlife authorities. The Tanzanian Government owns the animals that reside within the wildlife sanctuary and is often brought in by TAWA as orphans or injured wildlife. The animals get treated and trained, and then are prepared for release into their natural habitat within TANAPA-protected parks. The wildlife sanctuary also serves as an endangered species reintroduction center to translocate animals to parts of its natural range where populations have significantly declined or been lost. They are aiming to establish a viable population within translocated areas. The most recent animals for release are lions brought to us from other zoos due to their mother rejecting them at a very young age. Upon arrival these animals were in poor condition, they were trained and nursed back to health. With assistance from TAWA, these animals are being softly released from captivity into their natural habitat.
