Travel in a private custom-built 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, accompanied by an experienced local safari guide. Throughout your journey, a dedicated safari chef prepares freshly cooked meals and sets up camp, allowing you to focus on the wildlife and spectacular scenery. You’ll stay at well-maintained public campsites in spacious canvas tents with comfortable mattresses and pillows, while shared bathroom facilities are available at each campsite. Sleeping bags can also be rented in Arusha if required.
Your driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Tarangire for an exciting game drive, accompanied by a packed lunch within the park. Tarangire National Park is almost 3,000 sq km in size and is probably best known for its huge numbers of elephants and baobab trees. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June – November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti.
Enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water. With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River, the park is home to over 2,000 elephants and 500 bird species.

After breakfast, your journey will take you to Serengeti National Park, passing through the picturesque Karatu highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you’ll descend into the heart of the African wilderness: Serengeti National Park, where vast plains stretch endlessly before you. Your destination is the central park area, Seronera, renowned for its abundant wildlife. The Seronera River flows here, attracting a diverse array of Serengeti’s wildlife species. Arriving in time for lunch, you’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park, followed by dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at a public campsite
Today, you will have a half-day game drive in Serengeti. After lunch, you will drive to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater and stay overnight at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite A for dinner and overnight.
There are several documented resident lion prides within a 1-hour gamedrive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident pride begins to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.
Your final day begins with an early breakfast before descending into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. Often referred to as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa’s best places to see wildlife in a single day thanks to its diverse habitats and high concentration of animals.
Spend several hours exploring the crater floor in search of the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, and, with a little luck, the elusive leopard. You’ll also encounter hippos, spotted hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, and an impressive variety of bird-life against the crater’s breathtaking scenery.
After enjoying a picnic lunch at a designated site within the crater, you’ll ascend the crater walls and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha. Arrival is expected in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your 4 Days Tanzania Camping Safari with unforgettable wildlife encounters and lasting memories of Northern Tanzania.
